Measurement Guide

Vintage sizing tags can be unrealiable. Fabric shrinks, stretches and changes over decades - a vintage Large can fit like a modern Medium. Every listing includes exact measurements, taken with the garment laid flat, in inches. Below is exactly how we take them - photographed on real pieces - so you can measure something you already own and compare.

Waist - flat across the top of the waistband, seam to seam. Double it for the full measurement. (E.G. 16=32, 14=28)

How to use these

Take a garment you already own that fits exactly how you like, lay it flat, and measure it the same way. Compare those numbers to the listing - that beats any size tag, vintage or modern. Allow around half an inch either way for the nature of hand-measuring vintage.
